Miso ("we", "us") is an SMS-based food and calorie tracking service. This policy explains what we collect when you text Miso and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Your mobile number, which we use as your account identity.
- The messages and photos you send, including images of food and any text corrections, so we can estimate and log your meals.
- Derived food data — the calorie and macronutrient estimates produced from your messages, and your daily totals.
How we use your information
- To identify your food, estimate nutrition, and reply to you.
- To keep a log of your entries and daily totals so you can review them.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile opt-in data or text-message content with third parties for their own marketing.
We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate Miso: a messaging carrier to send and receive your texts, an AI provider to analyze your food photos, and a database/storage provider to store your logs. These providers process data only on our behalf.
Data retention
We retain your logs and photos so your history stays available to you. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
Your choices
You can stop messaging at any time by replying STOP. To access or delete your data, reply HELP in your Miso conversation.
